The poetic itinerary of Joan Vinyoli allows us to discover de “magic domain” of poetry of this fascinating poet, one of the most communicative poets of the catalan poetry of all times.
The itinerary takes place at the Sant Salvador park, a space of exquisite beauty that captivated the poet when he was a child and later on during his adolescence, since he spent his summers from the year 1922 to 1935 in the town of Santa Coloma. In the park you will find different natural elements that captivated the poet: streams, fountains, holm oaks, cork oaks, waterfalls, trails, the rocà, forests… The itinerary is made of a selection of 16 poems that should be read in different parts of the park in a loop trail that’s only 1.500 meters.
The selection of poems is representative of the thematic and stylistic richness of Vinyoli’s work, as well as evidence of the impression that the summers spent in Santa Coloma de Farners made on the first imaginary of the poet and later on the nostalgia of his verses.
All of these poems have been translated to English and some of them have also been translated to other languages. You can find all of them on the webpage: http://joanvinyoli.cat/portal/itinerari-poetic/itinerari-poetic-2
